Episode 82: Batman The Animate Series - Off Balance, The Man Who Killed Batman and Mudslide

Welcome to The Uncaped Crusaders Review! This is a podcast where Mark and Ian discuss (and rant) about all things Batman!

So much to get to this week! After catching up with some news and what we've been watching we are recapping three more episodes of Batman The Animated Series.

First it's Count Vertigo and the first meeting between Talia Al Ghul and Batman. We will also see some Hitchcock references and the first appearance of Ra's Al Ghul.

Next we have one of the all-time great episodes. Batman has been accidentally killed by a pathetic nobody and we see how Gotham takes it. The gangs are thrilled, the cops crushed and The Joker...well when the Joker gives Batman's eulogy, it's the greatest Joker scene of all time. Mark does his best to recreate it.

Last we are in a strange Clayface episode where he is falling apart. There are more movie references in this episode than any we've ever seen in the show.

So much news to cover on this week's episode. There are talks that the OG film Batman Michael Keaton could reprise his role as the Caped Crusader in an upcoming DCEC film. Also there are tons of Spider-Man rumors flying around.

We are back in Batman: The Animated Series this week with three more episodes to review. Birds of a Feather where The Penguin tries to go straight, What Is Reality? where The Riddler returns for a final showdown with The Dark Knight in a virtual world and finally I Am The Night where Batman is weary and wonders if what he does is worth it.

Episode 79: RIP Denny O'Neil, Batman 1966 Shoot A Crooked Arrow/Walk The Straight And Narrow (The Archer)

We remember the great Denny O'Neil and review the premier of Batman 66 Season 2 with Art Carney as The Archer.

Episode 79: RIP Denny O'Neil, Batman 1966 Shoot A Crooked Arrow/Walk The Straight And Narrow (The Archer)

Welcome to The Uncaped Crusaders Review! This is a podcast where Mark and Ian discuss (and rant) about all things Batman!

It's time for us to begin Season 2 of Batman 66! But man they could've picked a better episode because this one is terrible. Art Carney guess stars as the villain The Archer and if you've never seen an actor phone it in than you are in for a treat. He gives no effort and it's sad. The writers also didn't put much effort into this one. But there are a few gags worth mentioning!

We also pay our respects to the late Denny O'Neil. One of the greatest Batman writers of all time.

Episode 78: Batman The Animated Series - Almost Got 'Im, Day of the Samurai and Terror In The Sky

We finally talk about the highest iMDB rated BTAS episode, one of the best fights in the series and one of the best chases in the series.

Episode 78: Batman The Animated Series - Almost Got 'Im, Day of the Samurai and Terror In The Sky

Welcome to The Uncaped Crusaders Review! This is a podcast where Mark and Ian discuss (and rant) about all things Batman!

Well it's about time we got to Almost Got 'Im. Widely considered one of the very best episodes of the whole show and deservedly so. Would would've thought an episode of a kids cartoon where all the villains sit and talk would work? But boy did it! We also talk about the underrated Day of the Samurai which has one of the best fights in the entire series between Batman and Kyodai Ken on a volcano! The other episode we cover is Terror in the Sky. The second Man-Bat episode has a nice twist and an awesome chase scene!

Episode 77 - Batman: The Movie (1966)...Again

Welcome to The Uncaped Crusaders Review! This is a podcast where Mark and Ian discuss (and rant) about all things Batman!

This marks the first time we cover a Batman film again! Well we've just finished reviewing all of Batman (1966) Season 1 so it's only natural that we now go back and talk about the film that came in between Season 1 and 2.

We also talk Henry Cavill returning as Superman and more on the damage the Snyder Cut of Justice League could do to The Batman.

Episode 76: The Snyder Cut is Coming and Batman The Animated Series (Joker's Wild, Tyger Tyger and Moon of the Wolf)

Welcome to The Uncaped Crusaders Review! This is a podcast where Mark and Ian discuss (and rant) about all things Batman!

Due to Covid-19 setbacks in production and a halt to revenue, Warner Bros. is caving to the insane Zack Snyder fanboys and they are going to #ReleaseTheSnyderCut on HBO Max in 2021. We have a lot to say about it.

This week we are back in Batman The Animated Series and we talk Joker's Wild, Tyger Tyger and Moon of the Wolf.

Episode 75: Batman 1966 Fine Finny Fiends/Batman Makes The Scenes

These are two of the worst episodes we've seen so far.

Episode 75: Batman 1966 Fine Finny Fiends/Batman Makes The Scenes

Welcome to The Uncaped Crusaders Review! This is a podcast where Mark and Ian discuss (and rant) about all things Batman!

This week we are talking about possibly the two worst episodes of Batman 1966 that we have seen yet. The story is nonsensical, nothing anyone does makes sense and Alfred is...brainwashed? Even the amazing Burgess Meredith as The Penguin can't save this mess.

Episode 74: Batman The Animated Series - Heart of Steel P1&2 and If You're So Smart, Why Aren't You Rich?

We have a new format of the show and we tackle the 2001, T2 and other sci-fi inspired Heart of Steel and the first appearance of The Riddler.

Episode 74: Batman The Animated Series - Heart of Steel P1&2 and If You're So Smart, Why Aren't You Rich?

Welcome to The Uncaped Crusaders Review! This is a podcast where Mark and Ian discuss (and rant) about all things Batman!

The format of the show has changed some as we have moved Movie Swap to it's own YouTube Show! So this show will go back to us talking about any Batman related news and then about the Batman content. Hopefully this will streamline the episodes better.

This week we are back in Batman: The Animated Series with three more episodes. First it's the two-part Heart of Steel which is a combination of about 10 different sci-fi references/plots all crammed into two episodes. This takes aspects of 2001: A Space Odyssey with H.A.R.D.A.C. which is an AI who takes power from his human master in order to replace all humans with robots. This AI is basically H.A.L. from 2001 with the same emotionless tone and red light as it's "eye." It's got a ton of T2, which had come out just a year prior, and several other sci-fi staples. We also are introduced to Barbara Gordon for the first time.

In the other episode, If You're So Smart, Why Aren't You Rich? we get introduced to The Riddler, voiced by the great John Glover, and Batman and Robin have to solve the Riddle of the Minotaur maze.

Episode 73: Batman 1966 Death In Slow Motion/The Riddler's False Notion and Movie Swap (Winnie The Pooh 2011, The Game)

In these two episodes of Batman 66 The Riddler is making a silent film and Frank Gorshin really lets loose.

Episode 73: Batman 1966 Death In Slow Motion/The Riddler's False Notion and Movie Swap (Winnie The Pooh 2011, The Game)

Welcome to The Uncaped Crusaders Review! This is a podcast where Mark and Ian discuss (and rant) about all things Batman!

Ever wonder why The Riddler is the best Batman villain of the 1966 Batman show? Well the simple answer is Frank Gorshin. Gorshin is a master comedian and impressionist and by the forth time he dons the green leotard he is allowed to release his performing brilliance in full force. These two episodes are not well written and the story is pretty nonsensical. But none of that matters because The Riddler is impersonating Charlie Chaplin, making a silent film, throwing pies and robbing vaults as a cowboy. It is all a joy to watch.

For Movie Swap Mark watched The Game (1997) and Ian watched Winnie The Pooh (2011).
